Underwater Speaker
System
The HydroFlex Underwater Speaker allows a person out of the water to speak to all persons in the water. Sound travels very well underwater therefore all talent and crew in pools and even large tanks can hear clearly. An amplifier and microphone on the surface feed voice, siren or music to the speaker underwater.
With a live video signal from the underwater camera to a monitor at the surface a simple but effective means of communication between the cameraperson and the director or AD can be established. Camera roll and talent cues can be instigated by the director and the cameraperson can answer questions, in a yes or no context, by nodding the underwater camera via the video image on the topside monitor.
The amplifier is powered by 12V DC battery power. HydroFlex provides a gold mount battery plate for on-board batteries and a 4 pin XLR power cable for use with block batteries.
NOTE: BATTERIES ARE AN OPTIONAL, ADDITIONAL RENTAL ITEM!
For clearest sounds, the speakers should be suspended at least 6″ away from the side of the pool, tank or boat.
For feeding music into the system an aux jack to ¼” phono jack adapter is required - available from HydroFlex by request.
Aux Jack Adapter, required for music playback, is not part of standard rental, please ask for addition!
