HydroPar® 1200w M1 HMI

HydroPar® 1200w M1 HMI lighting systems are state-of-the-art underwater lights specifically designed for feature and commercial film production. Modular components, underwater mateable connectors incorporating the "mate first/break last" grounding circuit and integrated ground fault sensors (GFCI’s) which prevent electrical accidents, make these lighting systems safe, flexible and easy to set up. Compact and lightweight, the 1200w can be tailored to a variety of shooting situations. HydroPar 1200w HMIs mate to a 5/8” spud for compatibility with standard grip and lighting equipment. The globe is an industry standard 1200w SE making replacement easy anywhere in the world. The HydroPar 1200w M1 HMI light is for underwater use only. It is available with interchangeable reflectors for spot, medium and flood configurations. Because the bulb is enclosed in a tight fitting glass envelope, the beam pattern is adjusted by using the interchangeable reflectors to collimate the light. We use reflectors, not par diffuser lenses, to adjust the beam in this light. When a par diffuser lens is placed underwater so that both surfaces (especially the inner shaped surface) have water contact, the ability of the diffuser to spread light is significantly reduced. All reflectors are designed to accept a variety of accessories including gels, scrims and barn doors. Modular components, underwater mateable connectors and integrated ground fault sensors (GFCI's) which prevent electrical accidents, make these lighting systems safe, flexible and easy to set up. Compact and lightweight, the 4000W can be tailored to a variety of shooting situations. Barn doors and specially designed snoots are readily used by removing the lamp head retainer ring and inserting the accessory. Filters, gels and scrims may also be added. HydroPars mate to a 5/8" spud for compatibility with standard grip and lighting equipment. The HydroPar 4000W M1 HMI light is for underwater use only. It is available with interchangeable reflectors for spot, medium and flood configurations. Because the globe is enclosed in a tight fitting U/V coated quartz envelope, the beam pattern is adjusted by using interchangeable reflectors to collimate the light. We use reflectors, not par diffuser lenses, to adjust the beam. When a par diffuser lens is placed underwater so that both surfaces (especially the inner shaped surface) are wet, the ability of the diffuser to spread light is significantly reduced. Underwater, the glass diffuser has an effective index of refraction of 1.108 and hence, not a lot of bending power. Depth rated to 100 ft., it weighs 30 lbs. on the surface and 11 lbs. underwater. HydroRama™ 8K HMI

Illuminating large areas underwater is quick and easy with the HydroRama. This powerful fixture is especially effective for front lighting underwater greenscreens & bluescreens, but it's also great for creating dappled lighting effects on walls or ceilings around interior pools. Depending on your requirements the unit can be configured with either dual 4000W SE HMI's or dual 5000W SE Incandescent lamps. Reflector position is fully adjustable through 180º. Standard mounting configurations include a low-mode plate that allows getting close to the bottom of a pool and a yoke with a standard 1-1/8" junior male spud. Modular components and ground fault sensors (GFCI's) which prevent electrical accidents, make these lighting systems safe, flexible and easy to set up. Designed for submersible use only, the unit is depth rated to 100 ft.

Depth rated to 100 ft., this 1200W HMI is built for underwater use only. On the surface, this lamp weighs 29 lbs. SeaPar® 1200w HMI

The original underwater HMI's designed by Richard Mula and Pete Romano for the movie The Abyss, the SeaPar 1200W HMI has been extensively used in the motion picture and commercial industries on countless projects worldwide. This light made such a profound impact on the industry that in 1991, the lamp received a Technical Achievement Award from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The SeaPar lighting system passed NASA's Hazard Risk Assessment program for filming Michael Bay's feature film "Armageddon", and to date is the only underwater lighting to be allowed in NASA's "Neutral Buoyancy Lab" (NBL) in Houston, Texas. The lights have since returned to the NBL for a National Geographic shoot and Clint Eastwood's feature film "Space Cowboys".
