Buoyancy Compensating Camera Float

The Buoyancy Compensating Camera Float allows the operator to adjust the float level of the housing by inflating or deflating the outrigger type bladders. It can bring the lens anywhere from just under the surface, to a 50/50 split level or lifted all the way above the water line to put the audience right in the water with the characters. It greatly stabilizes the camera even in a pitching sea. A sliding base plate and standard quick release plate are integral to the system to adjust front to back placement of the camera and allow for easy installation & removal. Air can be added to the bladders from a SCUBA tank or by mouth & lung power.

SL Cine Pan and Tilt Head

Designed to withstand the rigors of underwater use, the SL Cine Pan & Tilt Head can also be used on land. Position your camera at any angle up to 41º with adjustable drag and lock for pan & tilt moves. 8″L X 11″W X 6″H.

Waterproof Exposure Meter Housings

HydroFlex has created a line of waterproof housings for the Minolta 1º Spot Meter, the Minolta Auto IV Incident Meter, and the Spectra Pro IV Incident Meter. Crafted from aluminum and plexiglass, they were primarily designed for use underwater, but because of their small size they are also ideal for use in rain, splashing situations or other harsh environments such as desert work or in the snow as Dean Semler, ASC did shooting "Detox" in Vancouver. Hydroflex® Minolta Auto IV Meter Housing HydroFlex designed the most form-fitting shapes possible, contoured to fit comfortably in the hand. The meters fit in the housings without any special modification or set-up, and quick-release latches allow easy installation or removal without tools. HydroFlex® Spectra Pro IV Meter Housing The housings for the Minolta Auto IV & Spectra Pro IV meters incorporate custom acrylic domes precisely fitted to the domes of the meters in order to assure accuracy of readings. The meter housings' lists of owners and motion picture and television credits speak for themselves. These meter housings are easy to use and ensure an accurate reading while protecting your meter. The Spectra Pro IV Housing has 6 push buttons to actuate all controls. You can easily change all the meter settings underwater and even operate the LCD display backlight. HydroFlex® Minolta 1 Spot Meter Housing Also available is the Sekonic L-164, an off-the-shelf self-contained marine light meter. It has a 30º acceptance angle and is depth rated to 180 ft. Underwater Communications

Video assist capabilities when used in conjunction with a one way underwater P.A. speaker system provide for a simple but effective means of communications between the cameraperson and the topside director. Camera roll and talent cues can be instigated by the director and the cameraperson can answer questions, in a yes or no context, by nodding the underwater camera via the video tap image, relayed from the underwater camera to the topside monitor. An amplifier and microphone on the surface feed voice, siren or music underwater. Sound travels very well underwater, and all talent and crew in even large tanks can hear clearly. For personnel safety, the amp and mike are powered by 12 volt DC battery power only. For clearest sounds, the speakers should be suspended at least 6" away from the side of the pool, tank or boat.

Behind The Scenes (BTS) Video Cameras

Topside crews can get information about the overall situation below the water with the BTS (Behind-the-Scenes) video camera. It comes with a wide angle, fixed focus lens that covers from 4 inches to infinity. The small color or B&W camera easily mounts to C-stands, etc. The rental kit includes a 5/8" spud mount, a 12V block battery and 100 ft. of cable that terminates to a standard BNC connector. Depth rated to 1000 ft. and manufactured by DeepSea Power & Light, San Diego.
